One word… | Kelowna Photographer

Another word… pink. And  it just so happened that my peonies started to bloom, and they are pink! Perfect timing… I love these shots so much that they are going to become the new artwork on the wall above my bed.

One word… | Kelowna Photographer

Another week of the one-word project. Are you sick of me yet? And I think I am behind a bit in posting.  The word… spring. And since some of my other images were spring related, I took a different spin on spring this time.

One word… | Kelowna Photographer

Spring has finally sprung here in the Okanagan. Oh how I love spring. After a long dull winter, the green that surrounds me is a welcome change. This week’s word for the one-word project is ‘two’. This week the word is a little more disguised. It’s more about the signs that spring is here. The cruiser is out and ready to go. The dandelions are out in full force and trying to take over. The tulips are just about ready to pop open. I heart tulips! And the surest sign of spring is bare feet in the grass.

Love… | Kelowna Photographer | Tasha Jean

my garden. I love all things pretty, and I especially love all things pretty that I had a hand in creating! Visiting the nursery in the spring is like a candy store for me. The color, texture, the delicateness, just everything about flowers makes me happy. My grandmother was an amazing gardener and I loved walking through her garden with her and asking her what each plant was. The picture in the bottom left is a bleeding heart which reminds me so much of her, there was always one in her garden. One of my all time favorites is the peony, and I have filled my yard with them. The center picture is a tree peony that I transplanted from my mom’s yard when she moved.

I miss my garden as the leaves turn and the frost sets in, but in a way I am glad that another season is over. I think the snow and brown make the anticipation of the first sign of green all that much better!

This post was inspired by my workshop friend Nicole Cassano. She recently posted flower pictures on her blog and it got me thinking, in the spring I had photographed some of my favorites from my yard!

Enjoy!
