One Word… | Kelowna Photographer

Here we are, week two of the One-Word Project and I am still on task, AMAZING! This week’s word… light. The word light can mean so many things, but since I was working on silhouettes that is what ‘light’ meant to me. Aren’t the clouds just too pretty?

Family Time… | Kelowna Family Photographer

Last Sunday I had the pleasure of spending the morning with Evan, his Mom and Dad, and dog Maggie. As soon as I arrived at his house, Evan was ready to play. We went straight to his room where he showed me his super cool bed, which was perfect for a game of hide-and-seek. He told me a story from his favorite book and filled me in on all his favorite toys. Once we had exhausted his room we took a walk to his ‘bestest’ neighborhood park. It really was a joy spending the morning with them!

It seems that in the craziness of photo shoots and life, the joy that I find in photography ebbs a little and my creativity gets lost. So my friend Rachel Clare has started a group on Flickr, the One-Word Project. Every week she will post a word, one single word, and we can to interpret it as we choose. This Sunday was the first word, sugar. Here is my interpretation…

Fifteen… | Kelowna Senior Photographer

Oh man… I never thought the day would come. As I sit listening to Fifteen by Taylor Swift, I realize that in a few short days I am going to be a mom to a fifteen year old. How did that happen?

Taylor is a good kid (teenager). We really couldn’t ask for a better daughter. She is beautiful on the inside and out. She still loves to hang with her family and family dinners are always entertaining, interesting, and I almost forgot, dramatic!  She is so compassionate and patient, especially with her brother and sister. She has aspirations of being a teacher, which she would be amazing at. She is busy… piano (grade 9 RCM), volleyball (club team), Tae Kwon Do (green belt). She does well at school and her teachers love her, and she has a pretty active social life with a close group of friends (hi Nicole!).

Oh, and at 5′11”, she has legs that never end.

She is probably blushing as she reads this…

but Taylor, your Dad and I love you… and are so proud to call you ours!

‘When you’re fifteen and your first kiss

Makes your head spin ’round

But in your life you’ll do things greater than

Dating the boy on the football team

But I didn’t know it at fifteen’

Married… | Kelowna Wedding Photographer

I love weddings! I love every detail, every emotion, every second, just  everything, and this wedding was no exception. Carly, Blake and I were quite comfortable with each other since we had photographed their engagement session back in October, you can find it here.

Carly, of course, made a gorgeous bride, and Blake did a pretty good job of the handsome groom. The wedding took place at the beautiful Manteo resort. And because of the limited amount of light this time of year, we decided to take the photographs prior to the ceremony. We were fortunate enough to use a private residence of a dear family friend for the wedding portraits.

Enough of me telling you about, I will let the images speak for themselves….
